Finding the problem bulb can be arduous, but it is less expensive than buying a new set of lights close to Christmas. Step 1 Test the electrical outlet you will plug your icicle lights into. Plug in another appliance or light source to make sure the outlet is supplying appropriate power. Step 2 Plug in the lights and look for any single bulbs or strands of bulbs that are out.
