How Do You Replace A Whirlpool Washer Belt?
If your washer belt is loose or broken, it will need to be replaced. Replacement belts are available at appliance-repair stores. When replacing the drive belt, the washer will have to be laid down on its front. Make sure that you have plenty of room to lay the washer down flat. Unplug the power cord of the Whirlpool washer from the wall outlet. Turn off the water supply and the spigots coming from the wall. Lay a bucket under the hose connections at the back of the washer and disconnect the water hoses from the washer. You may have to use a pair of pliers to start twisting the hose connections. Place the hose ends into the bucket to catch any remaining water in the hose lines. Pull the drain hose out of the wall and hook it on top of the control console. Lay a sheet across the floor in front of the washer. Tilt the washer forward and lay the washer on its front on top of the sheet. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the retaining screws securing the back panel to the washer. Loo
