Purchase a PVC replacement sink trap that is the exact size as the old one. Use the old sink trap as a reference. Most sink trap kits come with the attaching hardware. Wrap the threads of the new sink trap with plumbers tape. The plumbers tape keeps the threads from leaking water. Insert the retaining slip nut over the flange of the drain pipe from the wall with the threads facing you. Insert a rubber washer inside the nut. Set the sink trap over the wall drain and thread
