How Do You Replace A Thermal Fuse On A Kenmore Gas Dryer?
If your Whirlpool-manufactured Kenmore gas dryer has suddenly stopped producing heat, a blown thermal fuse is the most likely culprit. The thermal fuse is a helpful safety feature that protects your dryer from overheating by disrupting the flow of electricity to the heating mechanisms once the dryer reaches a predetermined maximum temperature. Once the thermal fuse has been triggered, it must be replaced before your dryer will be able to start producing heat again. Luckily for you, replacing a thermal fuse in a Kenmore gas dryer is simple and can be completed with little or no experience. Unplug your Kenmore gas dryer from its electrical outlet. Make sure that all electricity has been disconnected from your dryer before moving on to Step 2. Turn off the gas valve that supplies gas to your Kenmore gas dryer. Remove the gas flex line at the shut-off valve using an adjustable wrench. Remove your dryer’s back panel. Take out the screws on the back of the dryer and the panel will come free.
