A SIM card is better known as a Subscriber Identity Module card. It stores the ISMI (Service Subscriber Key) used to recognize and identify a subscriber on computers and mobile devices, securely. Essentially, every SIM card has a unique serial number, international unique number of the mobile user Service Subscriber Key, security authentication and ciphering information, temporary information related to a local network and a temporary local identification issued to the user, a list of the services that the user has access to and two unique passwords — 1) a PIN (Personal Identification Number) for normal use and 2) a PUK (PIN Unlock Key) for unlocking the mobile device.
