How Do You Replace A Saturn S-Series Engine Coolant Temp Sensor?
The engine coolant temp sensor senses the temperature of the coolant in your engine. If the engine coolant temp sensor goes bad, the reading of your temperature gauge will not be reading correctly. So to solve this problem, just follow the steps below to get started. When you buy your temp sensor, there will be no sealant on it. Get some Teflon tape and seal the threads. Make sure the engine is cooled all the way down before attempting to change the sensor. Go to the expansion tank and remove the cap to relieve the pressure in the system. Then reinstall the cap. Use a service manual to locate the sensor on your car. Remove the connector from the sensor. Use a ratchet set to remove the sensor from the car. Get the new sensor. Start by hand and screw it in the hole. Then use the ratchet to tighten it. Reconnect the connector and you are done. Make sure there is no corrosion in the connector.
