When the motor is running but the dryer drum is not tumbling, chances are you have a broken or stretched dryer pulley belt. Whirlpool owners need to know how to replace a pulley belt on theirdryer when this happens. The belt can be purchased at most appliance repair facilities. The clerk will need your model number to the dryer to get you the correct part. Once you have the belt in hand you will need to disassemble the dryer and replace the belt. Unplug the Whirlpool dryer from the wall outlet. Remove the two screws at the bottom front of the control console using a Phillips-head screwdriver. Grab the sides of the control console with your hands and flip it back into its service position. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the three screws at the back of the dryer top.
