If you don’t think your vehicle’s stock radio antenna is strong enough, you can replace it with a more powerful aftermarket version. Replacing an antenna in a Jeep Liberty is bit tricky because you will have to partially remove the front fender in order to disconnect and install it. Disconnect the vehicle’s negative battery cable. Unscrew the antenna mast from the vehicle body; it is usually mounted to the right fender. Remove the cover for the mast fitting and then unscrew the nut with a wrench and remove the bezel fitting. Detach the right kick panel inside the vehicle–pry up the front end of the door’s threshold molding with a trim stick and pull the panel off. Disconnect the splice for the antenna cable that is behind the kick panel and then tie a long (several feet) length of string or wire to the antenna cable.
