How Do You Replace A Jeep Heater Core?
When your Jeep starts to overheat, it is a sure sign of a problem that needs to be addressed immediately. Heater cores may become clogged, trap air inside or fail all together. No one wants a non-working heater in their Jeep, especially when the winter months draw near. Replacing your heater core is simple yet very time-consuming. Changing it as soon as you notice a problem with overheating, fogged windows or a musty smell will save you time, money and a chill. Disconnect the negative (black) power cable from the car battery with a wrench. Unscrew and remove the instrument panel using a screwdriver. Set instrument panel aside. If the Jeep is equipped with air conditioning, disconnect the liquid refrigerant line fitting from the evaporator inlet tube using a wrench. Then disconnect the accumulator inlet tube refrigerant line fitting from the evaporator outlet tube using a wrench. Plug the lines to prevent anything getting inside.
