Before you call a repair person, consider doing the job yourself and use the money you save for a nice dinner out. Unplug the refrigerator from the wall and locate your defrost heater. It will be either under the floor of your freezer deck or behind the back panel. Remove any parts or food that may be in the way so you have room to work. Remove the screws or retainer clips that secure the access panel. Carefully remove any trim and allow them to warm up before prying them out. Disconnect the wires by squeezing the connector clips and gently pulling the wires apart taking care not to place tension on the wires themselves.
