Follow these steps to replace a broken glass block. Use a grout saw to make a groove in the mortar around the glass block that needs to be replaced. The groove needs to be 1/2 inch or more deep. Cut the groove on both the inside and outside. The groove will help prevent damage to the glass block that is next to the one that needs to be replaced. Tap a hole in the center of the block with a hammer. Chip away the glass until you reach the mortar joints. Do this to both sides of the window. Wear safety goggles and work gloves while doing this. Use the hammer and chisel to remove the mortar and any remaining glass from the hole. Take your time while doing this to prevent chipping a neighboring block.
