Here is a simple method for replacing a vinyl tile. Hopefully you had some extra tiles left when you did the job originally. If not you will have to try and hunt for an exact match. After locating a matching tile warm the damaged tile with a hair dryer set on high. Heat the tile until it easily begins to lift up at least in some spots. Pull up as much as you can and chip any remaining tile away with the wood chisel or putty knife. If you are having trouble with one spot heat it back up with the hair dryer and try removing it again. Remove al the old adhesive, if it doesn’t come up you will need to use an adhesive solvent. Place the new tile in the spot where the old one was to see if it will fit properly, sand the edges if necessary and then remove it. Vacuum up the area.
