How Do You Replace A Bath Sink P-Trap?
One of the most common problems for your bathroom sink is that it may develop a leak. A common place for this leak to occur is at the P-trap connection under the sink. Each slip nut connection has a rubber or plastic washer inside it that prevents water from leaking out. Put on all protective gear. Set down some towels and place a bucket under the sink, directly under the P-trap plumbing you’ll be working on. Once you begin to disconnect the plumbing pipes, some water will leak out. Turn off the main water at the two shut off valves under the sink. If they are tight, spray lubricant on them. Wait about ten to fifteen minutes, then gently loosen counter-clockwise with the channel lock pliers. Turn on the faucet to make sure the water is completely off. Apply the channel lock pliers to the top slip nut on the P-trap. Turn gently counter-clockwise until it is loose. If you have a pot-metal P-trap, the metal may corrode or even break. This is ok, as long as you can remove the entire P-trap
