Protection of the expensive fuel injectors in your 1994 Eagle Talon, from sediment in the gasoline you use, is the responsibility of the fuel filter. This high pressure fuel filter removes sediment and rust particles while it maintains the fuel pressure and volume requirements of the engine. This repair project can be difficult, due to the mounting position of the fuel filter, but the average home mechanic should be able to complete the job in less than an hour. Remove the battery, to gain access to the fuel filter, using a 10-mm wrench to loosen battery cables, and battery hold. Starting with the negative battery cable, twist the cable ends, while pulling upward, to disconnect them from the battery. Remove the bolts that attach the battery hold down to the battery tray and body of the car. Remove the battery from the engine compartment.
