How Do You Repair Wood Furniture Legs With Glue?
If the legs on your wooden furniture wobble or are easily unattached, it may be time to give them a fresh coat of glue. Remember, you want to fix this problem as soon as you notice it to help avoid serious damage. If you do not handle trouble like a loose wooden leg on your furniture early, it may lead to an even bigger problem down the road. Lay the piece of furniture on its side so that the legs are no longer supporting it. Gently tug on the leg and see if it moves to detaches itself. If it becomes detached, set it aside. If it moves and rotates but does not detach, try to gently extract the leg from its socket. Lightly sand the end of the chair leg. Do not alter the shape; just remove any layers of old glue that remain. Sand the inside of the leg socket as well. Coat the inside of the leg socket with carpenter’s glue. Use a small paintbrush to accomplish this task. Place the leg back into the socket as quickly as you can. Do not let the glue dry before you reattach the wooden leg. C
