How Do You Repair Toilet Handles That Stick?
If you’re tired of hearing your toilet running in the middle of the night, it might be time to take a look inside your toilet to see what the problem is. Since water is involved, it’s a good idea to make any toilet repairs as soon as you notice them. Running water costs money, so the sooner you fix it the better. One common toilet problem is the sticking handle. Step 1 Remove the lid to your toilet tank. Examine the handle to see if it appears to be loose. If so, then locate the toilet handle nut on the inside of the tank. Toilet handle threads are the reverse of common threads. Apply your channel lock pliers and turn counterclockwise to tighten. The threads are reversed so that as you continuously push down on the handle, the nut won’t come loose. Don’t overtighten or the plastic handle may break.
