How Do You Repair The Front Steps?

0

Even concrete steps can crack, crumble and decay over time. While recasting concrete front steps can be time-consuming, with the right tools you can repair them correctly, and prevent a potentially dangerous tripping hazard. Use a chisel to chip out all old or crumbling pieces of concrete before you begin to repair the front steps. Remove as much debris from the step as possibly with a whisk broom. Flush out the cracks with a garden hose after you are finished. Place boards along the damaged area of the steps to act as a form or mold. Use bricks or concrete blocks to secure the boards in place so that they won’t fall when you pour the concrete. For the best results, use boards that are roughly the same width and height of the step. Nail additional boards at the ends of the step to reinforce the form, keeping the first boards in place. You can use a fairly large piece of plywood for this part of the structure as long as it doesn’t get in the way when you pour the concrete. Nail addition
