It is sometimes easier to replace a piece of stained glass that has broken or cracked. You will first need to remove any remnants of broken glass and replace it with a piece that matches the design. You can find all of the necessary items at a stained glass shop, including the replacement glass and the specialty running pliers and diamond grinder. Use scissors or shears to cut the aluminum sheet to approximately 1 inch by 6 inches. Each section of stained glass that has been assembled with the copper foil method has foil around it. The pieces are then soldered together and all of the copper foil is covered with solder to reinforce the soldered joint and give it a consistent look.
