How Do You Repair Scratches On Glass Cooktop Stoves?
Glass cooktop stoves are a common feature on many modern electric ranges and can present an attractive, smooth appearance. The heating elements are located underneath the cooktop and are hidden from view and the glass cooktop is typically dark or black in appearance. However, the use of rough pans, utensils or food that gets trapped or dragged across the surface of the cooktop can result in scratches on the stove. Repair scratches with a few tools that can be purchased at most hardware or home repair stores. Spray glass cleaner on the cooktop and wipe it clean with a soft, clean cloth. Spray additional glass cleaner on the scratch and leave it for several minutes. Wipe the excess cleaner away with a clean, soft cloth. Scrape the raised edges of the scratch with a flat blade of a butter knife, a razor blade or even a fingernail to flatten out the edges. Work carefully to avoid creating new scratches on the surface.
