They are easily damaged and scratched, yet it is difficult to throw them away when they stop working. Repair scratched CD’s or DVD’s with a simple and inexpensive toothpaste trip and avoid paying for higher priced disc cleaners. This technique will not repair the most scratched CD, but it is very effective most of the time. It is definitely worth trying before throwing them away. . Rinse your disk in tap water and dry with a lint-free cloth. You want to make sure it is nothing as simple as dust or dried peanut butter causing the problem.
