Glass block can also be a wonderful conversation piece. As with any construction, however, the grout in it may fall victim to weather, becoming loose and crumbly. The handy homeowner shouldn’t have any trouble repairing and replacing the damaged grout. Remove all loose grout with a nail, screwdriver or grout saw. Ensure the completed project’s uniformity by removing a thin layer of grout from the entire panel. Hose down the panel with water and scrub with a stiff brush. Do not power wash or use a wire brush. Allow the entire area to dry thoroughly. The drying time will vary depending on temperature and weather conditions. Mix enough glass block mortar to complete the project.
