How Do You Repair Plastic Motorcycle Fenders?
The fenders on a motorcycle are subjected to constant damage throughout the life of the motorcycle. Repairing the fenders will be much cheaper than replacing the fenders. If the fenders have holes in them, you will need to use a patch kit to plug the holes. You will need to remove the fenders from the frame of the motorcycle before you can proceed with the repairs. Every motorcycle is different and so will the process of removing the fender from the motorcycle’s frame. Remove the fenders from the motorcycle and sand the entire surface of the fender using 80-grit sandpaper. Wipe down the fender with water and a shop rag. Cover any holes in the fender using the patch kit. Patch the holes according to the directions on the patch kit. Once the holes are covered, sand the entire surface of the fender using 120-grit sandpaper.
