How Do You Repair GE Washing Machines?
General Electric (GE) washing machines have been getting clothes clean for decades, but like most appliances, your GE washing machine may malfunction on occasion and require repairs. Some of the most common problems are a washer that fills but doesn’t agitate, a washer that won’t fill or fills slowly and a washer that leaks or overflows. Check that the lid switch magnet is properly in place on your GE washer. If the magnet is missing or is not working properly, the washer won’t spin or agitate when the lid is closed. Order a new magnet from General Electric, and replace it, following the instructions that accompany the magnet. Also make sure the lid is closed. The washer won’t operate with the lid open.
