How Do You Repair Foundation Cracks With Urethane?
Foundation cracks can be a homeowner’s nightmare. Cracks can develop over time as the foundation settles or shrinks. Cracks allow moisture to penetrate into the home, and large cracks can result in leaks and flooded basements. Large cracks should be repaired by a professional, but a homeowner can easily tackle smaller cracks using a urethane crack repair kit. Use a firm wire brush to scour the area along the crack. Clean a one-inch area on both sides of the crack. Get rid of any dust and debris that may prevent the epoxy seal from adhering to the concrete. Insert injection ports along the length of the crack. Place the first one about four inches from the end of the crack, then every six inches along the crack. These ports will facilitate the injection of the urethane filler.
