How Do You Repair Earbuds?
Invariably the failure in a pair of earbuds will be due to rough use and the separation of the tiny rubber earbud cushion from the driver unit. This can happen when you’re tired, such as after a long flight, and you’re not careful about removing the earphones from your ears and stowing them. It’s also easy for the earbud cushion to separate if you let the earbuds hang freely during temporary non-use, such as over your shirt when moving through an airport and stopping to talk to multiple people. But beware, if you lose an earbud, it’s a bit like contact lenses; they can be impossible to find. Carry spares. Step 1 Purchase spare earbud cushions.
