How Do You Repair Cracked Plastic Items?
Plastic objects often crack or break. However, you don’t necessarily have to throw them out. You can repair cracks in plastic with these steps. Step 1 Use a plastic repair kit to repair broken plastic pieces. Such products have been designed especially for repairing plastic, and their unique formulations mean that they can be used for a variety of plastic repairs. A couple of examples are the products Plast-aid® and Plastex™. Step 2 Employ an epoxy, which will bond the cracked sides together. Step 3 Use a urethane adhesive product. You can find a urethane adhesive in several different varieties to meet your individual needs. Step 4 Fill cracks with a plastic filler or putty. After applying, you can sand it down to blend in with the surrounding plastic. Look for a variety that you can tint or that already is colored to match your plastic object.
