How Do You Repair Broken Curved Furniture Legs?
Fixing furniture yourself is not always easy, but you can rarely make it worse! This will be a brief explanation of how to fix a curved furniture piece. Since this is the first I am writing, please be sure to send comments! First, make sure you have all of the pieces. Even the little splinters. Having the small pieces will allow you to hide the repair better. Drill a hole into the smaller piece of the leg. This hole should be sized to fit a dowel, and the size should not be any bigger than 1/3 the size of the wood. For example, if the leg is approximately 1″ wide, the hole size should be about 3/8″. If you can, drill two holes, but leave enough space between them in solid wood for a third dowel. The dowel length will depend on the break, but for a clean break, approximately 1″ deep should be sufficient. Drill a hole into the other part of the furniture.
