How Do You Repair Bathroom Grout Around Shower Basin?
The grout between the tiles around your shower basin is subjected to a barrage of moisture, soap, grime and other things that can cause the grout to mildew, corrode and even crack. If the grout is compromised, moisture can get under the tiles themselves, which can cause bigger problems in the long run. Don’t put off fixing it. Generally, you can scrape out and replace the grout in one afternoon. You will need to shower or bathe elsewhere for a few days afterward so the grout has time to cure. Dig out all the damaged grout lines with a grout saw. Scrape the saw back and forth on the surface of the grout on each line, applying downward pressure and gradually breaking up and digging out the grout. Do the entire length of each line that’s damaged. Pick up dust and debris, using a hand-held vacuum, from inside the lines and around the tiles. Scoop out pre-mixed grout with a grout float. Press the grout into the lines that you dug out, wiping it across the face of the tiles. Then go over it
