How Do You Repair Andersen Window Screens?
Window screens are designed to allow you to open your windows and allow in fresh air. At the same time they keep insects out of your home. A damaged or torn screen is unsightly and does not perform its basic function. Repairing an Andersen window screen is a reasonably simple procedure and, with the right tools, can be completed fairly quickly. Remove the damaged screen by loosening the retainer clips with a screwdriver. The screen will have two tabs on the bottom or side of the window. Lift or pull these tabs in the opposite direction to compress the metal springs that hold the screen in the screen track and then pull the screen toward you to remove it. Lay the screen on a flat surface and use a flat screwdriver to pry the rubber spline out of the track along the sides of the screen. Once you have the spline out in one area, you should be able to pull it out easily. The spline will be one continuous piece if it has not been damaged. Remove the old screen material and lay new material
