Home audio systems normally employ the use of large woofers or subwoofers. Many large speaker boxes have a 10- to 16-inch woofer at the bottom of the speaker. Sometimes these woofers are bumped into or damaged resulting in a hole or tear in the woofer cone. In the event of large tears, you can make a small patch out of construction paper and use rubber cement to fix the tear in the woofer. Step 1 Remove the woofer from the speaker box. The woofer will be screwed into the box around the diameter of the cone. Remove the screws and take the woofer out. Step 2 Disconnect any wires to the woofer and turn the woofer over. Measure the length of the tear with a tape measure or ruler. Step 3 Cut a small piece of paper with scissors to fit along the length of the tear.
