How Do You Repair A Swimming Pool Liner?
Swimming pool liners handle a lot of abuse. They are stretched by hundreds of gallons of water, laced with pool chemicals and suffer through cold and hot temperatures. After four or five years of use, pool liners begin to degrade from the elements and develop holes or tears. You can salvage a few more years out of a pool liner with repair kits. Wet pool liner repair kits contain adhesive that works when wet, so you do not have to drain the pool to cover the hole or tear with the patch. Purchase a vinyl pool liner patch repair kit at your local pool supply store. Cut the repair patch so it is ½ inch larger on all sides of the hole or tear in the liner. Cut the repair patch in a circle. A patch with points might not adhere as well as a circular patch and the corners can loosen. Place the adhesive from the repair kit onto the circular patch.
