How Do You Repair A Refrigerator That Leaks Water?
If your refrigerator leaks water, the problem has to do with the drain pan. Your refrigerator has a drain hole that collects condensation and allows the water/condensation to drip into the drain pan, where it evaporates. Your refrigerator’s drain hole may be clogged, or the refrigerator may not be slightly tilted toward the back, keeping the condensation from reaching the drain hole. You can repair both those issues without the help of a service professional. Place a level on the top-side edge of the refrigerator. The refrigerator should be tilted slightly toward the back. If it is level, or tilted toward the front, condensation cannot reach the drain hole, causing a leak. To tilt the refrigerator back, have a helper tip the fridge slightly and raise the refrigerator’s front legs according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Generally, you will need to unscrew the front legs to raise them. Only tilt the refrigerator slightly, or a problem could arise with other refrigerator functions.
