How Do You Repair A Porcelain Chip On A Bathtub?
Porcelain is an attractive material which is often used to finish bathtubs. Unfortunately porcelain is also extremely fragile and can be chipped very easily if you are not careful. While the bathtub will never be in the pristine condition it was in before the chip, you can patch the chip and make it look almost as good as new. You should patch any chips in a bathtub because porcelain is very sharp and can cut your skin. Step 1 Sand the area with the chip until the area is smooth and any rust which may be on the porcelain is gone. Dry the area completely and throughly. Step 2 Cover the chip with the resin filler (available at a home-improvement store). Apply the resin to the chip with the paint brush. Let the resin dry for a half hour. Step 3 Repeat this process until the resin has built up enough that it is even with the surrounding tub. Step 4 Dip a cotton swab in the solvent and spread the resin out from the chip to the tub until the finishes have been blended together. Step 5 Paint
