How Do You Repair A Noisy Rocker Recliner?
Rocker recliners are similar to traditional recliners except that they function as a rocking chair when the foot rest is not raised. Over time, the rocker can begin to make noises while in use, the most common of which is a squeak or scratching sound. These sounds are caused by the springs on the interior of the chair that shift and rub against other chair parts. Repairing a rocker recliner to eliminate noise is usually not difficult. Grasp the back of the rocker recliner chair in both hands and tilt it until the back of the chair is lying on the floor. The bottom of the chair should be exposed. Use a flat head screw driver to remove the thin fabric covering the bottom of the chair. This fabric is attached to the chair frame using staples or tacks. Insert the blade of the screwdriver under the staple or tack and pry it up. Use a flashlight to examine the bottom of the rocker recliner for the source of the noise.
