Moen is a major manufacturer and supplier of high end home and commercial faucets and showers. Moen uses a cartridge system to control the pressure and flow of hot and cold water. The cartridge incorporates the diverter which separates the flow of hot and cold water, ensuring you receive the proper temperature of water. Look under the sink or cabinets in the room you wish to fix your faucet. Under the sink will be one or two handles connected to either copper or flexible metallic pipes. This is the water main for the room and you need to turn the handles at least 1/2 turn to the left to shut the water off. Push the faucet handle all the way up to expose a star shaped hole. Use your hex key, turn counterclockwise, to loosen this hole and remove the handle. Once the handle is loose enough you can remove the handle. This will expose the Moen cartridge.
