Sometimes a leaky radiator does not need the services of a professional. In this article we describe steps to rapair leaks on metal radiators used on vehicles. Park the vehicle in the open, open hood let it cool and drain liquid of radiator With the spanners remove the radiator from vehicle and place on the table. Mark the leak spot, clean with wire brush and apply home use muriatic acid with paint brush working with safety personal tools(goggles,etc). If acid falls on your body wash thoroughly with water. With extra precaution Light torch with spark lighter, apply acid base flux on the cleaned spot and heat with torch. After the acid base flux reaches boiling point apply lead solder to the heated area until a smooth silver spot covers the leaky area. Cover outlet and inlet of radiator with pieces bicycle tube tied with wire or any tying element, fill radiator with water and blow in the radiator through the filling hole to ensure leak is sealed.
