Repairing a leaky sink drain isn’t hard to do at all. Whether it is a slow leak or a new installation that never sealed properly, repairing your sink drain can be done with some basic plumbing knowledge and a few specialty plumbing tools. Both kitchen and bath sink drains can be repaired in no time, although they don’t come apart in quite the same way. Insert the basket wrench and socket driver into the top of your sink drain. Have a helper go under the sink and apply the spanner wrench to the kitchen sink’s large drain nut. Hold the spanner wrench in place, while you turn your basket wrench and socket driver counter-clockwise. Both these specialty drain tools can be bought at your local home improvement center. You must use both tools or the entire drain basket assembly will just spin in place. After the drain nut is loose, remove it from the bottom of the drain.
