How Do You Repair A Knife Handle?

0

Knives are a complicated tool crafted from steel and treated with nickel to become rust resistant. When a knife breaks, it can be a complicated process to restore the knife to its previous state. As with any expensive item that breaks, always consult the manufacturer before attempting repairs yourself, as most knives are under a lifetime parts and blade warranty. Remove all the screws from the handle and take the handle apart. Tighten the screws on the inside of the handle that hold the blade in place. Reassemble the handle and fasten the screws tightly. Disassemble the entire knife. Place some vinegar on the stove and bring it to a boil. Place the knife parts into the boiling vinegar and gently boil the knife for one hour. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely. Rub off any remaining rust with a cotton cloth and re-assemble the knife.
