How Do You Repair A Ford Explorer Power Window Regulator?
If the window in your Ford Explorer fails to go down from the up position, chances are the problem does not lie with the window regulator; it’s more likely a faulty switch. However, if the window goes down suddenly on its own, or will not come back up, yet you hear a noise in the door when you push the up button, chances are you have a faulty window regulator. Open the door and carefully remove the door panel using a socket wrench to remove fasteners in the door panel. Some fasteners are hidden behind small trim panels, denoted by small screwdriver head sized gaps where the edges meet the door panel. Carefully pry those trim panels off with the screwdriver to access the fasteners beneath. Once removed, set the door panel someplace safe to avoid damaging it or getting it dirty. Examine the window glass and regulator inside the door. Use a flashlight to see everything clearly if necessary. Check to see if the regulator is physically broken, or no longer connected to the window glass. Sli
