How Do You Repair A Deteriorating Concrete Pool Deck?
Deterioration of a pool deck typically is caused by weathering and constant water absorption. Concrete resurfacing is the easiest way to repair the deck’s deterioration. In this case, you do not have to resurface the deck by removing the top layer of concrete. The easiest way to repair the deck is to cover the existing surface with a new, concrete-and-stone surface after cleaning the deck. Sweep all dirt and debris off the pool deck. Getting rid of loose dirt will assist in the entire cleaning process. The less loose debris there is, the easier it will be to force the stuck-on dirt off the deck. Clean the concrete pool deck. Use either a water-based pressure washer or a liquid-oxygen bleach-and-water solution. For the bleach solution, go to Step 3. For the pressure washer, move to Step 4. Wear safety goggles and gloves while cleaning the deck. Combine 2 parts oxygen bleach solution with 3 parts hot water in a bucket. Pour the mixture into the tank sprayer, and begin spraying the deck.
