As a result, your car window defroster stops working. Check the Fuses Step 1 Check the fuse box to verify that the fuse is still working for the rear window defroster. Step 2 Test the fuse by using a voltmeter. Step 3 Replace the fuse with a fuse that is identical to it. Repairing the Terminals Step 1 Locate the terminals on the edges of the rear window. If they are missing, you need to solder them back on. Step 2 Clean the glass with rubbing alcohol and a 60-40 rosin core solder.
