How Do You Repair 1991 Subaru Legacy Seat Belt Sliding ?
A mechanic forcefully moved the slider which had been stuck in the track toward the front of the door to the back of the door and somehow affixed it in that position which is behind the left driver’s shoulder and enables us to manually fasten and release the shoulder belt. Otherwise, it would have been necessary to replace the track and the small motor which automatically moves the shoulder belt forward and back as the door is opened and closed. This was estimated to cost about $900; however, as it developed there were no longer any parts available for this 18 year old Subaru so the mechanic took pity on us and did the above described action.
