How do you renove a Penncraft 2250 watt alternator (model # 5896) from a 5hp Tecumseh engine?
Billy, The alternator is off. Took the end cap off the case, removed the long bolt and fan and after a few taps on the aluminum case with a rubber mallet the alternator came off the crankshaft. The engine crankshaft is tapered and threaded for the long bolt that goes through the fan and rotor. 4 bolts hold the end of the alternator case to the engine block. Thank you again for your help.
