How Do You Remove Wood Glue From Clamps?
Your clamps are a second set of hands for you. You use them to hold items you are working with and gluing together. Over time, wood glue builds up on your clamps and needs to be removed. You don’t need a “special glue remover” or harsh chemicals to remove the wood glue buildup. All you need is some vinegar from your kitchen, a putty knife and a clean rag. Pour 1 tbsp. of white vinegar into a small coffee cup. Wear rubber gloves to keep your hands from getting wet. Dip a clean rag or shop towel into the cup of vinegar. Rub the vinegar-soaked towel on to the dried wood glue spots on the clamp. Let the vinegar set on the wood glue for at least five minutes. Scrape the wood glue from the clamp with a putty knife. Use some pressure if multiple layers of glue is present. Wipe the clamp with a dry rag or shop towel once the wood glue is removed.
