If that’s not feasible, try removing the stain yourself with some basic supplies. Lift as much wine out of the Oriental rug by blotting it with a clean white cloth or paper towels. Spray water on the stain to dilute it. Blot up the water with a white cloth or paper towels. Spray a cleaning solution on the wine stain. Mix a few drops of a mild liquid dish soap with cold water, or mix white vinegar with cold water. The latter solution should have one tbsp. of vinegar for each cup of water. Blot the cleaning solution from the rug with a white cloth. Continue blotting until all of the cleaning solution has been removed.
