How Do You Remove Windows XP Terminal Services?
Windows XP’s Terminal Services service controls things like Remote Assistance and the Remote Desktop Connection. Unfortunately, this service can also cause issues with shutting down your computer. If you want to remove this service from the startup routine, you can do so by modifying its properties in the Windows Services configuration panel. Right-click the “My Computer” icon on your desktop and click the “Manage” option. Click “Services and Applications,” select “Services” and find Terminal Services in the service list. Double-click on “Terminal Services” and then click the “Stop” button. Change the “Startup Type” to “Disabled,” click “OK,” close the window and restart your computer to apply the settings. Terminal Services is now removed from the Windows XP startup, and won’t bog down your computer anymore.
