How Do You Remove Windows XP Service Pack 2?
Microsoft provides Service Packs for their Windows operating systems, such as Windows XP, to improve the operating system’s performance, security and stability. However, after you have installed a Service Pack, you may encounter new errors. In some cases the conflict caused by installing a Service Pack may outweigh the Service Pack’s benefits. Fortunately, in Windows XP it is possible to remove a Service Pack and return the operating system to its earlier state. Click the “Start” button then click the “Control Panel” icon. Double-click the “Add or Remove Programs” icon in the Control Panel window. Click on Windows Service Pack 2 in the list of applications under “Currently installed programs and updates” in the Add or Remove Programs window. Click the “Remove” button. Follow the prompts in the Software Update Removal Wizard. When the wizard is complete you will be asked to restart your computer to finish the removal process.
