How Do You Remove White Noise From An MP3 File?
White noise, sometimes known as “background noise,” can be especially frustrating to the person who is making a Podcast or other MP3 recording. Unless you’re recording in a studio, it’s likely that you are going to have to deal with some degree of white noise, but you can remove white noise from an MP3 file using the open-source, multi-platform software, Audacity. Download Audacity from the SourceForge Audacity website (see Resources). Audacity comes in PC, Mac and Linux versions. Install Audacity on your computer. Open Audacity. Select “File” and “Open” to open your MP3 file in Audacity. Identify a portion of your MP3 file that contains only white noise and no other sounds.
