How Do You Remove Water Stains From Suede?
Suede fabric is especially prone to staining. Even water will leave unsightly marks. In many cases, though, suede is salvageable. It takes effort, but it is possible to remove water stains from suede. If the suede is soaking wet, first allow it to dry naturally. Do not under any circumstances apply heat, as this can further damage the fabric. If the suede item is a hat or a pair of shoes, stuff it with newspaper or set it on a form. Wet suede can lose its shape. Use a suede brush (or any sort of stiff-bristle brush) to brush at the stains until they have disappeared. If brushing doesn’t remove the stains, try buffing them out with a washcloth or an emery board. If the water stains are old, you may not be able to remove the stains. However, you can disguise them by first very lightly dampening the suede, then allowing it to dry.
