Every parent and every pet owner knows the frustration of clothing and bedding that has been soaked in urine. Bed-wetting is very common in both children and new pets and most often will pass in time, but in the meantime nobody wants their home to smell peed. The solution is simple. . . and environmentally friendly. Step 1 Begin a load of laundry as you normally would, use your preferred water temperature and cycle. You can use any laundry soap, but unscented allows for the best effect. Step 2 Sprinkle baking soda over the top of the load of clothes, then wait for water to rise over surface of clothing before adding vinegar. Do not be alarmed by the foaming that occurs when the vinegar hits the soda-this will not harm your clothing. Close the washer and allow it to finish washing and rinsing the load.
